My Hero Academia: Team Up Mission Vol. 1, by Yoko Akiyama, is a book that tends to have a new, and unique, story and villain in each chapter. Which really drags the book longer while introducing and remixing characters, which is the main reason why the book is unique. The story starts off with the U.A. High School hosting a new project called Team Up Missions, in this project the students that participate get to fight alongside pro heroes. Deku Midoriya, the protagonist, was teamed up with other two people which were Uravity Uraka, and Kacchan Bakugo as well as their leader, Rabbit Hero Mirko, who didn’t really show much interest at first but later on really has hopes for her team. One chapter that I really found interesting was Chapter 3 because it puts focuses on a quirkless girl named Melissa (quirks are like superpowers in this story), yet she makes complex machines that still help a lot in fights which is highly respectable. This is also my favorite chapter because this really reminds me of Deku before he swallowed All Might’s hair to get quirks. This book really is a catchy one. This really would be a great book for anime and My Hero Academia lovers. This story, though, also takes place way in the future, after All Might retires from the school as a principal. This book also holds many theories as it has many events happening at the same time, this makes the book even more interesting than it already was. I can confidently say that this book is a masterpiece.
About This Book
The ambitious Team-Up Missions Program pairs groups of aspiring heroes with pro heroes to go on action-packed missions! Although Izuku Midoriya and his U.A. High friends are thrilled to participate, there’s just one catch—there’s no telling who will be teamed up with whom! From top heroes to students from other classes and schools, anyone could be on the same team.
Midoriya is excited for his first team-up mission until he learns that his team includes the explosive Bakugo. The pro hero they’ve been matched with is also a real wild card. Can this makeshift team cooperate, or will Midoriya’s first mission be his last?
