Kids

Reading and Planting: An Exploration of Our Environment (Zoom)

The teen volunteers of the Virtual Library Connection program are proud to offer this special virtual storytime and activity program for children ages 4 to 8 years old.

The teens will read Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Children will learn about the environment during this program. Topics covered will be deforestation, ecology and how we can be mindful of our environment at home. The associated activity is to plant a marigold flower seed, to be picked up at the library.

Library Laboratory: Marshmallow Towers

With the recent rising intrigue in science, the volunteers of the VLC have established the Library Laboratory. Our volunteers have made creative and educational presentations catered towards elementary-aged children. This club will allow participants to take part in group and individual events to increase their curiosity and knowledge of STEM topics. In hour-long meetings that take place every other week, kids will learn about a specific science topic supplemented with a related hands-on activity.

DIY Slime

Get messy at the library and leave with some slime! This program will be held outside. In case of bad weather, we will move it inside. Please register online here for either the 2pm or 3 pm session.
