Library Laboratory: Marshmallow Towers
Aug 5 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
With the recent rising intrigue in science, the volunteers of the VLC have established the Library Laboratory. Our volunteers have made creative and educational presentations catered towards elementary-aged children. This club will allow participants to take part in group and individual events to increase their curiosity and knowledge of STEM topics. In hour-long meetings that take place every other week, kids will learn about a specific science topic supplemented with a related hands-on activity.
Participants will learn about gravity, triangles, and their effects on architecture. Then, they will do a hands-on activity where they will use the information they have learned to create a tower with raw spaghetti and marshmallows.
This program is perfect for all elementary-age students.
