Living Beyond Borders is not a novel, but rather a collection of short stories, poems, and narratives made by other authors. All of it is compiled into this book here. As the title suggests it covers stories of Mexicans and the lives they live in the US. This book takes ideas of Mexican cultures and God's such as Quetzalcoatl and other ideals. These stories show how Mexicans cope with a new landscape with their ideals and family. This book also shows the reality of moving, and the lives immigrants are forced to live. In one of the stories it talks about ghetto, which is not a adjective but a term most are familiar with as home. It shows discrimination against the sexuality of Mexicans, and even their race. Discrimination not being limited to child or adults. This book is a joy to read and it comes with many shocks and good laughs. What I have talked about so far can not cover everything in this book. This book has taught me a lot about Mexican culture and the true lives they live by the border. 5/5
