About This Book

The Hunger Games as you've never seen it before--in a remarkable illustrated edition featuring spellbinding art from internationally acclaimed artist Nico Delort

Even at the age of sixteen, Katniss Everdeen knows it takes hard work, keen observation, and inner fortitude to survive in the world. Her home, District 12, is under the merciless rule of the Capitol, continually forced to pay after losing a long-ago civil war in the nation of Panem.

One of the ways the Capitol keeps control is its annual Hunger Games, a televised fight to the death featuring two young tributes from each of Panem's twelve districts. This gruesome battle is meant to drive home a chilling message: Rebellion will always be punished.

When Katniss finds herself within the Hunger Games arena, she knows the odds aren't in her favor. Any wrong move will end her life--and even the right moves come with a cost. But if she can survive, there is a chance the districts may survive as well.

New illustrations for famous story

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and illustrated by Nico Delort is a dystopian novel following Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old girl who lives in a repressed society split into districts. The Hunger Games is hosted annually where the government forces every district to offer two tributes to compete in an enclosed arena. These 24 tributes must fight to the death until only one person remains to emerge victorious. The wealthier, lower numbered districts tend to be better off in resources and training allowing them to dominate the competition viewing it as a chance for glory. On the other hand, the lower districts dread the competition in fear of being chosen as tribute. When Prim, Katniss’ younger sister, is chosen as tribute for district 12, Katniss volunteers herself to take her place as tribute in fear for her sister’s life. On her way to the capital, Katniss observes the glaring difference in quality of the districts which is proof of Collins’ innate ability to build vast worlds like Panem. Collins demonstrates considerable skill at creating an emotionally engaging story with profoundly human characters. Readers become very attached to many of the characters quite quickly, which makes their eventual loss all the more heartbreaking, highlighting the cruelty of the games and heightening the tension within the story. This special edition features vividly detailed images that really draws the reader into the story and is perfect for both longtime fans or newcomers to the Hunger Games series. Whether you’re rereading the story or diving into it for the first time, The Hunger Games remains a must-read for anyone seeking an action-packed and emotionally powerful dystopian novel.
