This first book explores, questions and sheds light to what truly happened to lead to Simon’s death. The investigation throughout the book reveals the secrets of the students and their hidden motives. Throughout this first book it explores the themes of betrayal, mystery, secrecy, and deception when the characters try to navigate through their journey of truth and lies. They aim to prove who is truly the killer. This book, One of us is back, is the third book and the final continuation of this series. It has been two years since the death of Simon in detention and now it is the summer in which the Bayview crew aim to move on. However, when a suspicious billboard appears in town saying “Time for a new game, bayview” it leads to concerns about repeating the same history as two years ago. This book explores this journey and focuses on the toxic, abusive, and deadly games the teens play and the consequences and secrets revealed from the series of events. Personally I would rate this book a ⅘ and recommend it to anyone that enjoys thriller books or anyone that likes being at the edge of their seats while reading.
