Junji Ito's book has a interesting premise but....

Essentially an outer space horror book. Junji Ito doesn't waste time getting straight into the story. With breakneck speed and tension Junji Ito delves straight into the story. Much of the time he doesn't offer any explanation on the planet itself and the reasoning of everything. He then weaves characters into the story flowing much of the time as readers we have no idea. Remina herself becomes instant the main character as the planet is named after. Her arc is fairly quick a she becomes a celebrity but later on changes into a person hunted. Junji ito along the way has several characters who have their own personal agendas about remina. Most of the people are hunting for her in order to kill her hoping this will save everybody else. Others include people in her fan club. Mitsumora, Naoya Goda, Kunhiro Mineishi, and a homeless guy. All these characters show up and one way the other are thrust in the plot with their own personal reasons which unfold along the way. Remina is a good read but is mostly about the plot and the characters are intriguing but not that much detail is given about them. Remina is good read but mostly leaves an intriguing premise that leaves you wanting more.
