“Ashfall Legacy” by Pittacus Lore is a sequel to the Lorien Legacies series. (The author is most commonly known as Pitticus Lore, as it is his pen name, but the author’s actual name is Jobie Hughes.) The book takes place in a fantastical world where aliens and humans had once met. The main character is Sydney Chambers. He is a 16 year old boy who is half alien. His mother, Beth, is a human and his father, Marcius, is an extraterrestrial from Denza, an alien race that has a presence on Earth. This makes Sydney half alien and half human. Sydney has believed that his father was actually dead, but Syd soon discovers a device that his father left behind. This device not only showed that Marcius, his father, was alive, but where Marcius was located. During his voyage he found out an important secret that could either destroy the world or make it a better place to live. The suspense and the cliffhangers kept me reading on until I finished the book. Out of five stars I would give this book four stars. I would also recommend this book to those between the ages of twelve to eighteen. The genre of this book is science fiction, so those who really enjoy science fiction should read this book, regardless of their age.
