About This Book

The finale to A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series. By the end of this mystery series, you'll never think of good girls the same way again...

Pip is about to head to college, but she is still haunted by the way her last investigation ended. She’s used to online death threats in the wake of her viral true-crime podcast, but she can’t help noticing an anonymous person who keeps asking her: Who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears?

Soon the threats escalate and Pip realizes that someone is following her in real life. When she starts to find connections between her stalker and a local serial killer caught six years ago, she wonders if maybe the wrong man is behind bars.

Police refuse to act, so Pip has only one choice: find the suspect herself—or be the next victim. As the deadly game plays out, Pip discovers that everything in her small town is coming full circle... and if she doesn’t find the answers, this time she will be the one who disappears...

The book As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson

The book As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson is a classic serial-killer thriller story. It takes place near the city of New York, with a girl named Pip Fitz-Amobi as the main character. It is a classic yet terrifying story of what could happen if you're not careful. It represents the problems of the real world that many people face, and in that way, it makes the story much more interesting. The author starts the book off with Pip entering a court case after accusing a person named Max as a rapist online.Things start going downhill from there, as Pip cannot conjure enough evidence to support her claim. As she is built by the author, she becomes enraged during the trial and leaves it, saying that she won't tolerate any of this. However, after the court case, Pip starts receiving mysterious emails from someone anonymous, with a mysterious message from them. The author gradually starts off with emails and starts to move on to more serious messages from the person, such as two dead pigeons on her driveway without a head, or stick figures being drawn around her house. Pip confides with her close friends and relatives, but none except Ravi, her boyfriend, believes her. As Pip starts to investigate the truth behind this mystery, one thing becomes clear: there is a stalker watching her every move. The question is: who is the mysterious stalker and why is he doing this? What does the previous serial killer DT Killer have to do with this? Is DT Killer, the killer that Pip and Ravi researched, back at it again? The author writes in a bold and iconic way that captures both the attention of adults and young adults. Though there is sensitive language and scenes, the plot itself is very deep and quite interesting. I personally liked the plot of the story, though the main character Pip in my opinion could have been tweaked at least a little to have more of a positive personality. Overall though, the author reveals important themes and aspects of the story that make the reader wonder what is going to happen next, and keeps the pages turning. This book would deserve a rating of four stars due to the lack of positiveness in the main character.
