The novel, "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan is available on Hoopla and is a great series to read during this time when everyone is in quarantine. The series consists of 5 books with "The Lightning Thief" being the first book. The main character, Percy Jackson, finds out that he is not completely human in an unconventional way. He finds out that he is a demigod, which means that one of his parents is a god/goddess. Percy finds out that his father is Poseidon, who is God of the sea, and exhibits similar powers as his father. His mother sends him to a camp for demigods for his own protection where he makes friends and tries to prevent a war between the gods.
I would rate this novel 4 out of 5 stars since it's an interesting read with a fantasy world that readers can get lost in for hours. I would recommend this novel to readers who enjoy fantasy books with the main characters going on adventures to save the world. I would recommend this novel for readers 12+ due to the content of the novel.
