**BEWARE SPOILERS!**

Right from reading the title of the book, it stood out to me. Throughout the book characters became very relatable and personal to the reader. Annie's mom treating her like an animal and everyone around her judging how she was. This gave me a feeling of sympathy for Annie because she really was all alone. Another thing that stood out to me was the language and Annie's unfiltered tone. It paints a vivid picture. Especially when Annie found out who really killed her. As the memories flow back into her brain, she remembers that Grady was the one that killed her. Furthermore, she remembers that Grady was driving Maura's car. (Her best friend) When she is connecting all of the dots, the plot starts to twist more and more. This is because Annie and I thought that Grady had nothing to do with her murder and he was a protagonist. However, he is now introduced as the real killer. The plot twist is advanced even more when she learns that Maura knew this whole time which is why she was also killed. Her father has killed someone before while being the sheriff which shows how people in the book are all really messed up. This teaches a lesson that whatever someone may look like on the outside, they could be completely different. The twist was completely unpredictable for me. One thing that I would critic is that why would Grady keep Maura's body near him while still attempted to dispose of Annie's body. Why couldn't he do both to eliminate all risks of getting caught? Overall, this book offered a satisfying thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat filled with a mix of horror and mystery.
