October is Health Literacy Month.

Visit 'Just for the Health Of It!' Health Literacy Table in the library lobby October 7-17, 2024 to find information in multiple languages about health literacy and how it can affect your ability to make informed health decisions, take medicines correctly, manage a chronic disease and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Healthy Habits - Happy Kids Storytime & Games

Would you like your children to be healthy and happy? Join our fun and educational storytime to help your kids establish healthy habits early in childhood.

Each month we explore a different health topic through songs, cartoons, storytime, games or craft activities.

The topic in June is Exercise, Fitness and Summer Safety. Enjoy a puppet show storytime about how Froggy and his Dad celebrated Father's Day and have fun playing bowling, cornhole, ring toss and other screen-free summer games.

Pride Month Health Table

Stop by the library's Pride Month Health Table June 7-13, 2024 in the library lobby and pick up resources on LGBTQIA+ Health, Pride bookmarks and buttons.

Get Pumped Up About Heart Health: High Blood Pressure Information Table

The HEAL initiative is a student-run initiative from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School that provides education on high blood pressure management, with a focus on lifestyle modifications. They will also provide information on local community sites to check blood pressure and steps on how to properly track blood pressure at home.

The June session's table topic is "Dietary Approaches to Prevent Hypertension."

 

Strength in Differences: Parents Supporting Parents

Wednesday, May 29th, 7:00-8:00 PM

Parents and caregivers of special needs families are invited to a special evening of connection, casual conversation, and coffee! 

Please join us to meet other adults whose families may be experiencing some of the same challenges yours is, and meet with library staff who would like input on creating more inclusive opportunities for the special needs community.  Light refreshments will be served.

Co-sponsored by the East Brunswick Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) and the library.
