In this talk, we explore how we can mine and analyze people's social media postings in different platforms to get a better sense of people's reactions to different political events. Case studies include: (1) How Facebook Engagement Data Explains BREXIT and the 2016 Presidential Elections; (2) Using Twitter Data to Understand People's Sentiments to Different Terrorist Attacks; and (3) Can Political Candidates' Social Media Activity Help Us Understand Their Popularity and Relevance of their Ideas.

Zakiya Stewart and Victoria Galarza will  teach healthy eating skills and build confidence in shopping and eating healthier on a low budget. The lesson includes nutrition education, interactive activities, and discussing a recipe for adults to make at home. "Fruits and Vegetables" teaches the benefits of eating more fruits and vegetables and how to increase the consumption daily.

About the Speakers:

Miss Burma

Miss Burma  tells the story of modern-day Burma through the eyes of Benny and Khin, husband and wife, and their daughter Louisa. After attending school in Calcutta, Benny settles in Rangoon, then part of the British Empire, and falls in love with Khin, a woman who is part of a long-persecuted ethnic minority group, the Karen. World War II comes to Southeast Asia, and Benny and Khin must go into hiding in the eastern part of the country during the Japanese occupation, beginning a journey that will lead them to change the country's history.
