The "Concerts In The Courtyard" series is held at the East Brunswick Public Library. This performance will be held INDOORS in the Meeting Rooms.

Join Creature Comfort Pet Therapy to learn about the power of pet therapy, hear how animals and their owners become volunteer teams and experience the calming effects from Creature Comfort volunteers and their loving dogs. You will be able to interact with live animals at this program. Open to all ages.
Nurses from Saint Peter’s Community Health Services will be on hand from 2-4 pm to conduct free screenings of blood pressure and blood sugar. Free free to drop by, get screened, and stay your healthiest!
Medical students from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School will teach you how increased stress and lack of sleep impacts hypertension. After explaining how stress impacts blood pressure, they will go into different methods on reducing stress (e.g., journaling, exercise, meditation). Learn about sleep hygiene practices that can help you reach a deeper, more fulfilling sleep. There will be a discussion of sleep apnea and the connection between heart failure and insomnia. This presentation will be both informative and enjoyable for all participants!
The HEAL team will be covering how smoking and drinking alcohol can negatively impact your cardiovascular health and increase the risk of hypertension. We will also be offering suggestions on how to modify these lifestyle habits to better manage high blood pressure independently in the long term. This program will be accessible in-person at the East Brunswick Public Library and virtually, over Zoom.
Students from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School will teach you how to control your blood pressure by staying physically active. The program will be followed by an informative table at the library entrance between 12:00 – 1:00 where students will answer your questions and hand out articles about the importance of exercise and heart health.
