Grades K-1: Suggested Picture Books

This reading list was created by your Youth Services Librarians and includes great contemporary and classic books for kids.

Picture books use natural language and are often difficult for beginning readers to read on their own.  They are meant to be read aloud by an adult!  They help kids develop reading readiness skills and a love of reading & learning, and they give you the chance to snuggle up and read together from a young age!
