As we welcome 2025, I want to thank you all for making East Brunswick Public Library a beloved destination to find knowledge and inspiration, build connections and make new friends. It has been an honor for me to serve as your library director in a community that is so rich in cultural diversity. East Brunswick proves that love speaks many languages and comes from all walks of life.
We do our best each day to bring people together with collections and programs that are inclusive and celebrate our uniqueness and similarities by creating shared experiences of joy and friendship. This library is home to all the people of East Brunswick. All races and ethnicities. All ages. All who are under-served and underrepresented. All genders and orientations. All points of view.
What better time than the start of the new year to remind everyone that libraries are about more than books. From newborns to seniors, there’s something here for you. Best of all, we’re still that warm and quiet place to snuggle and read a book.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll find: craft programs for all ages; music & concerts; business workshops; cultural celebrations; health programs and screenings by local hospitals and providers; notary; passports; open play times for children 0-35 months; teen scavenger hunts; cool science stories and experiments; free tax assistance; and much much more. Check out our complete list of programs here.
When you are not at the building, you can access a virtual library of eBooks, movies, tv shows, and audiobooks; ParentTV streaming videos; digital comics; and Tutor.com online tutoring. Our health portal links to quality health information in many languages.
We created a new Accessibility Librarian to design programs and services for children through adults with physical, visual, and intellectual challenges; veterans; and LGBTQIA+. The library now offers a Sensory-Friendly Browsing Hour; Sensory Bags to promote calmness; and a Dyslexic-Friendly Font booklist for children and teens.
We also offer BARD talking books for the blind; LEAP classes to teach the accessibility features of the iPad; color corrective glasses to assist with color blindness; and hearing loops in our meeting rooms.
Our library staff is the magic behind everything we do. Their genuine kindness keeps our patrons coming back. Your magic ticket to the library is your library card. If you haven’t been here in a while, stop by to renew your card and enjoy everything the library offers. I am always an email or phone call away.
