Summer reading 2024 has officially launched! Starting now, you can sign up for the summer reading program at the Teen or Youth Services desk and start earning points towards awesome prizes like popular YA books, vinyl stickers, gel pens and highlighters, and a chance to win one of three grand prizes!
How does it work?
- First, stop by the Teen or Youth Services desk to sign up. Then download the ReadSquared app and login with the username and password given to you at signup.
- Earn 20 points for every day you read (audiobooks and comics count, too!).
- Earn 50 points for every teen event you attend (check the event calendar to see which events are eligible!).
- Earn additional points through themed challenge missions!
- Every 100 points, earn a prize and raffle ticket for one of three grand prizes: Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 instant camera bundle, waterproof portable bluetooth speaker, or $50 gift card of your choice!
- After 1000 points, keep earning raffle tickets for every 100 points, plus complete bingo boards for extra chances to win!
What counts as reading?
Literally anything! Read a book, magazine, or newspaper. Listen to an audiobook. Read a graphic novel or comic book. Listen to a podcast. Read a picture book (on your own or to a younger sibling; we don't judge!). Spend twenty minutes catching up on your Twitter feed. Do a crossword puzzle. If we tried to list every single thing that counted, we would probably be here for a while!
