Honoring Her Strength: Celebrating the Powerful Women in Our Lives

Join NJ4S Middlesex and celebrate the amazing women who inspire you!  In recognition of Women's History Month, we'll highlight a powerful woman in your life and share why she's made an impact.  Whether it's a mentor, a friend, or a role model, let's come together to honor the strength, resilience, and everything else women do to make the world a better place.  Freebies, activities, and resources will be provided.

Upcycling Day

East Brunswick Public Library teams up with Project Rise (a Dawoodi Bohra Initiative) and New Jersey Assemblyman Sterley S. Stanley for an upcycling workshop at the library on Saturday, April 19 at 11:00 am.

Upcycling is a simple yet powerful concept that can bring about positive change for the environment. It is the process of transforming old or discarded items into new and useful things rather than throwing them away. In 2023, the state of New Jersey passed a resolution that names April 16 as the state's official "Upcycling Day."

Watercolor Zentangles

Come relax at EB Create for a meditative painting session!

We will be making watercolor zentangles, as seen on social media. In this method, we will paint shapes or abstract patterns, keeping brushstrokes and negative space as even as possible. The activity has a similar effect on the brain as meditation. Available to Grades 6+.

No registration required -- please arrive 15 minutes prior to reserve your spot.

Crochet for Charity: Amigurumi Bunny (Gr. 6-Adult)

Join teen volunteer Sahana to learn a fun crochet bunny pattern! We will be collecting finished bunnies to donate to local food banks to hand out to children in April.

Some experience with basic crochet skills recommended (magic ring, single crochet, increase, decrease). Please bring your own crochet hooks. Yarn and stuffing will be provided.

Registration recommended, but some walk-ins may be accepted dependent on space.

Take the Winter Reading Challenge!

Kids in grades K-8 are invited to take the Winter Reading Challenge!  The challenge runs from Sunday, January 12th through Friday, February 28th.

Pick up a BINGO board at the children's desk anytime you're at the library.  Get five in a row and select a prize book that you can keep FOREVER!  That's because reading is its own reward.  :)
