Description:  George Washington is known as the father of our country, but very few really understand the type of person he was, how he got his wealth or why he was willing to risk everything he had, including his life, by becoming a traitor to the British. This program will provide a window into Washington’s business activities; the inheritances he received and oversaw; his keen entrepreneurship, including many instances of his going against the conventional wisdom by being a disrupter; his simultaneous micro and macro management of his affairs and how he applied his keen and extraordinary business acumen to creating the presidency and also the capital city of the United States.

Presenter: Edward Mendlowitz, CPA, is emeritus partner at WithumSmith+Brown, PC and is one of Accounting Today’s 100 Most Influential People. Ed is the author of 29 books and has written over 1500 articles and blogs and developed and presented over 350 speeches to accountants and general audiences. He is a licensed certified public accountant and is accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in business valuation and as a personal financial specialist (PFS). He teaches courses on financial analysis and managerial accounting in the MBA program at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
