POSTPONED - 19th Amendment Lecture

Mar 19 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Women’s Suffrage and the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment

This event features a talk with display of many historical photographs of the struggle for U.S. women to obtain the right to vote. That right was won nationwide with the 1920 adoption of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, so this lecture is part of the State's celebration of the 100-year anniversary of that Amendment. New Jersey’s own Alice Paul, who was instrumental in advocating for the passage of the 19th Amendment, will be highlighted.

The presenter is attorney Sharon M. Hallanan, an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s Speaker’s Bureau, who has been presenting this program in schools and libraries throughout the State for this centennial year.  Ms. Hallanan previously worked for the State of New Jersey as a Deputy Attorney General and as a Supervising Attorney in the New Jersey Courts' office of Central Appellate Research.
