Total Eclipse At The Library

Did you know that there is a partial solar eclipse coming to East Brunswick this April?

East Brunswick Public Library (2 Civic Center Drive) will have a solar eclipse viewing part on Monday, April 8th. LImited glasses will be available for viewing the eclipse in the Municipal Courtyard. Peak viewing is at 3:24pm.

Previous Programs:

The last eclipse happened last fall. NASA Solar System Ambassador Isaac Osores discusses what happened during that eclipse during a presentation at the library on Wednesday, March 27 at 7:00 pm. Using photos taken from San Antonio during the October 14, 2023 eclipse, he will explain what an annual solar eclipse is, as well as how the upcoming April 8 eclipse is different. He will also discuss upcoming celestial events to look out for in the coming weeks.

Osores is an East Brunswick resident who enjoys amateur astronomy and 3D printing. He is also a NASA Solar System Ambassador, committed to communicating the science and excitement of NASA's space exploration missions and discoveries with the people in his community.

Our final program is, “Tips for Next Week’s Solar Eclipse” on Wednesday, April 3 at 7:00 pm. The upcoming eclipse is on April 8, and East Brunswick will experience a partial solar eclipse with 91% coverage. This program will explain how solar eclipses work, and a look into activities taking place in East Brunswick Public Schools science classrooms even if you are an adult and do not have a child in the school system.

The program is led by Stephanie Holtzman, a physics teacher at East Brunswick High School. She will be joined by CJHS/EBHS students.

Both programs are free and open to the public.

Solar eclipse glasses will be distributed attendees of the events courtesy of the EB Friends of the Library and Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries.
