Introduction to Health Disparities in the LGBTQ+ Community

- Introduce LGBTQ+ terminology including the difference between biological sex, gender, and sexual orientation
- Provide information on common health disparities and barriers to care
- Discuss current resources available in NJ
Presented by Ashley Purper, MPH. Ashley is a Community Cancer Control Specialist with Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ. As part of the community outreach and engagement team, she is responsible for educating the community on various cancer prevention and screening topics through workshops and other outreach opportunities. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from West Chester University and began working with the Cancer Institute after obtaining her Master of Public Health Degree in 2021.
