How to Keep Your Balance and Prevent Falls

Apr 20 - 11:30am to 12:30pm

Falls are a leading cause of injury and injury-related death in the elderly population aged 65+. There are multiple reasons why you can fall. Balance is one of the biggest factors affecting falls. This presentation from Dr. Rupa Patel, DPT, seeks to educate the community on what factors can increase one's risk of falling, and how to prevent and reduce the risks of falls. She will also educate how your balance is impacted and how it can be improved with physical therapy.

Dr. Rupa Patel, DPT, is a practicing physical therapist for 12 years and currently working in the East Brunswick community. Rupa has had a wide variety of experience treating patients in the Orthopedic and Subacute settings treating from young kids to the elderly with cases of sport injuries, falls, chronic back/neck pain, and post-surgical rehab. Rupa loves working as a PT secondary to the joy of making her patients feel better and getting them back to doing what they love.
