Agriculture & One Health
Join college students from the Rutgers University One Health Club to learn about how agriculture can affect environmental, animal, and human health. Then you'll paint your own pot and plant some seeds to take home. For kids and tweens in 2nd through 6th grades.
Founded in 2020, the Rutgers One Health Club aims to promote and create projects in line with the One Health Initiative’s mission: to approach public health as an intersection of human, animal, and environmental health. Throughout these two years, club members wrote a letter of support to assist the establishment of the NJ One Health Task Force, conducted educational presentations at fellow Rutgers organizations, established biweekly journal clubs to help their members think critically and grow their knowledge about One Health issues, hosted a One Health Panel, volunteered at Rutgers student farms, and ran a Paint-a-Pot campaign to teach children about gardening and raise money for a One Health Scholarship. As health issues inevitably continue to arise and medicine becomes increasingly intertwined with the environment and other organisms around us, the Rutgers One Health Club members are excited to continue expanding the organization’s reach and instill a passion for One Health throughout the surrounding communities.
