PC Literacy Part 1

Learn how to use a computer and become PC literate!

Topics in this class include:

  • Computer Terminology and Components 
  • Turning On/Off the Computer 
  • Introduction to and Practice with the Mouse 
  • Introduction to and Practice with the Keyboard 
  • Navigating the Desktop and Opening Programs 
  • Computer Storage and Other Computer Hardware

PC Literacy Part 2

Learn how to advance your computer skills!

Topics in this class include: 

  • Common Window Elements 
  • Multitasking 
  • Working with Files and Folders 
  • Toolbars, Ribbons, and Commands 
  • Using Copy & Paste 
  • Printing 

*Attendance for PC Literacy I is not required to atttend PC Literacy II. However, to attend this class, you must know how to use a mouse, keyboard, and navigate different programs.

Movie Matinee: Super Mario Bros.

While working underground to fix a water main, Brooklyn plumbers and brothers Mario and Luigi are transported through a mysterious pipe to a magical new world. But when the siblings are separated, an epic adventure begins.

Showtime: August 29 (Thur) 2pm at YS programming room

Admission tickets will be distributed 15 minutes at children's desk before showtime. 

 

 

 

 

Movie Matinee: Ramona and Beezus

Based on Beverly Cleary's best-selling children's novels, this film follows the adventures of a mischievous and free-spirited young girl named Ramona Quimby (Joey King) as she annoys her older sister (Selena Gomez) and attempts to save her family's home.

Showtime: July 25 (Thur) 2pm at YS programming room

Admission tickets will be distributed 15 minutes at children's desk before showtime. 

Microsoft Word Part 1 (Beginner) CANCELLED

Learn the basics of Microsoft Word in this beginner introdcutory course!

Topics include:

  • Navigating the Word window
  • Creating and Saving a Document
  • Usign the Clipboard
  • Printing a Document
  • Closing the program 
  • Keyboard Shortcuts

D.E.A.R. Book Club for 3-5th gr. (Online)

D.E.A.R. stands for Drop Everything And Read. It was a reading practice featured in the Ramona books written by Beverly Cleary.

This Book Club is going to read Ramona & Beezus in 3 Zoom meetings.

Date: June 27, July 11, July 18 

Time: 2-3 p.m.

There will be a separate library program Movie Matinee on 7/25 2pm showing "Ramona and Beezus"
