Mother's Day

Author:

Another Mothers Day, and the best one ever.
I stood in the doorway enjoying the weather
They were coming today, after weeks of such distance
Not for lack of compassion.  Not ever indifference!

No , this evil malaise that invaded our shores
drove wedges between us as we sheltered indoors.
Those who lived nearby appeared in the flesh.
While others sent flowers, so fragrant and fresh.

We take love for granted from the ones we hold dear.
As this forced separation has made it so clear.
But next Mothers Day!  Oh my, what  bliss!
We will finally be able to hug and to kiss.
