Description: Lawyers are often mocked in pop culture as “sharks,” but a quick flip through the newspaper tells you the real sharks out there are in the business world. The economy is improving, and it is a good time to consider going into business for yourself. However, entrepreneurs must navigate through a maze of legal issues and decisions when launching a new business or building a successful one. At the outset, you may think some seem inconsequential – but, tragically, that would likely be your first of many mistakes. The choices you make today will have lasting effects on the viability and profitability of your business venture. You don’t want to be “shark bait”.

This webinar will cover some of the most common mistakes made by entrepreneurs, both first timers and experienced business owners, and what you can do to avoid making them yourself. Whether selecting your form of organization, getting started, hiring employees, leasing office and business space, or running your business, this webinar will give you tips and techniques so that you can be both profitable AND legal.

Presenter: Randall Brett is a former Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Section, a delegate to the General Counsel, and an active member of the New Jersey chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
