Aldo Zelnick series

Aldo Zelnick is a comic novel children's book series intended for middle-grade students, written by Karla Oceanak and illustrated by Kendra Spanjer. These books have titles written in alphabetical order and follow the life of a ten-year-old boy, Aldo, and are written and illustrated as entries in Aldo's sketchbook.

Dear Whiskers

Jenny is discouraged when her second grade penpal turns out to be a new student from Saudi Arabia who does not speak English very well, but as she works with her they slowly become friends.

Lulu series

Hilary McKay's Lulu series is a great series for kids who adore animals. Lulu is the animal lover, but her best friend Mellie is always ready to jump in and help her with a stray dog or a found egg that's ready to hatch. Their friendship is sweet, and Lulu's entire family is optimists. When things go wrong, they're always looking on the bright side.
