The Friends of the East Brunswick Library is hosting a virtual author talk with Jennifer Keishin Armstrong, who will discuss her book Seinfeldia: How the Show About Nothing Changed Everything, on May 14 at 7:30 pm. Her book chronicles the iconic Seinfeld television show.

Seinfeldia chronicles the history of Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld's "show about nothing." NBC executives didn't have high expectations for the sitcom, debuting it during the summer. The show was an unexpected hit, and by the end of the show's nine-year run had an audience of over 40 million viewers.

Armstrong's online presentation will be broadcast on Zoom. It will be a deep dive into the history of Seinfeld, why it was so popular, and the impact it still has to this day. Armstrong is a New York Times bestselling author, having also written The Mary Tyler Moore ShowMary and Lou and Rhoda and Ted; and Sex and the City and Us: How Four Single Women Changed the Way We Think, Live, and Love

She spent a decade on staff at Entertainment Weekly and has since written for many publications, including BBC Culture, The New York Times Book Review, Vice, New York magazine, and Billboard.

This event will be held on the Zoom platform. Please make sure you have the application installed on your computer, iOS, or Android device.
