Proton Therapy for Cancer with Brian Chon, MD

 

Learn about proton therapy, an advanced technology and important addition in the fight against cancer with Brian Chon, MD.

Discussion topics include:

  • Proton therapy is a precise form of radiation which can reduce dose to normal healthy tissues
  • Protons can be useful to prevent dose to the heart and lung for select breast cancers
  • Protons can reduce dose to the rectum and bladder for select prostate cancers

Dr. Chon graduated with honors from Swarthmore College, Philadelphia, and received his medical degree and was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Society from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Chon was chief resident in radiation oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medical School, Boston. He also completed a sub-fellowship in basic science research on breast cancer genetics at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Chon currently services as the Medical Director at ProCure Proton Therapy Center in Somerset, NJ.
