Concert: 美和鼓 Biwanko Group

We are excited to announce that this free concert series returns in 2024, and features a diverse lineup of entertainers, representing the many cultures that make up central New Jersey. They all start at 2:00 pm. Please note that all performances are indoors.
 
Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund.
 
Additional funding is provided by the East Brunswick Friends of the Library.

BIWANKO is a non profit organization for Japanese Traditional Drumming Troop.

Biwanko was formed in fall of 2007, in Bergen County, New Jersey, by a group of Japanese families aiming to pass Japanese culture and tradition onto their children.  As the group grew, Biwanko started performing to the public.  The performers range from the ages of 6 to 18 years old, and we offer taiko performances and workshops to local community events, schools and institutions.  Biwanko also has performed at National events such as Washington D.C. Sakura Matsuri and Special Olympics 2014 USA Game.
