EB Astronomy Club presents, "Warp Drive, Hyperdrive and the future for Interstellar Travel" with Mike Buttitta
"Warp Drive, Hyperdrive and the future for Interstellar Travel" explores the possibilities beyond our solar system and delves into the challenges and scientific principles of interstellar travel. Key topics include: Warp and hyperdrives, sustainable energy sources, and the distance problem.
Mariano "Mike" Buttitta lives in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, with his spouse and three children. He works as the STEM/STEAM Education Specialist for the New Jersey Department of Education. Formerly, he taught Technology and Engineering Education, STEM, and Computer Science. Mike is a NASA Endeavour Fellow and PARSE Science fellow, holding MS degrees from Valley City State University in Technology Education and Montana State University in Science Education and Space Studies. He is an active member of the New Jersey Technology & Engineering Education Association (NJTEA), International Technology & Engineering Education Association (ITEEA), and the Amateur Astronomers Association of Princeton (AAAP). His long-term goal is to create an aerospace engineering class, and a curriculum unit focused on exploring Jupiter's moon Europa and Mars.

The East Brunswick Astronomy Club (EBAC) was founded with the mission of encouraging and promoting an interest in astronomy and space science throughout East Brunswick and beyond. EBAC meets once a month at the East Brunswick Public Library and meetings typically include a short lecture, open discussion, and telescope observing.
This group is open to adults, teens, and families with children ages 12 and younger.
