The East Brunswick Astronomy Club presents, "An Introduction to Amateur Astronomy" with Denis Cheng.

Join us for a presentation by Denis Cheng on some basic facts on, "what everyone should know," about astronomy. This will include a short history of the development of amateur astronomy, while focusing on some famous and not-so-famous amateur astronomers, who helped to make it one of the most popular hobbies in the world.

Denis Cheng is a frustrated spaceman – his childhood heroes were Flash Gordon, Rocky Jones and Commando Cody but he grew up in the era just before space flight became an accessible reality, so he has sublimated his lifelong yearning for exploration and adventure by becoming an avid world traveler and explorer, backpacker, scuba diver and, of course, amateur astronomer.

The East Brunswick Astronomy Club (EBAC) was founded with the mission of encouraging and promoting an interest in astronomy and space science throughout East Brunswick and beyond. EBAC meets once a month at the East Brunswick Public Library and meetings typically include a short lecture, open discussion, and telescope observing.

This group is open to adults, teens, and families with children ages 12 and younger.
