SCORE: So You Have a Business Model (ZOOM)
This workshop will show you ways to use business modeling more fully, reduce risk and build a stronger business by taking these steps:
- Look at your Business Model Canvas with a critical eye to see if the logic makes sense or reveals vulnerabilities.
- Identify assumptions and risks in your model.
- “Get out of the building” -- reduce your risks by testing your assumptions with potential customers.
- Brainstorm “what if” scenarios for changing different elements of the model, to see if there are ways to make it stronger.
- ...and much more.
Presenter: Joan Divor is an expert in research and planning tools with SCORE Southern NJ Branch of the Princeton Chapter. She is adept at connecting people with organizations, contacts, and resources that enable business owners to move ahead with plans and decisions.
Before leaving full time work in 2019, she created and delivered research services and workshops for the business and nonprofit community as the Business Librarian at the Burlington County Library System. For example, she has trained business owners on “lean startup” tools -- practical aids for creating a "one-page business plan," and validating business models.
She initiated and nurtured collaborative partnerships with SCORE and other business serving organizations. And, through grants from the New Jersey State Library and New Mexico State Library, she trained librarians and created tools to help libraries reach out to their business communities.
She also has decades of experience in the private sector as a library director, and in market research and competitive analysis.
